Photo collection
Satakunta Museum's photo collection are being published as the digitizing progresses. Overall the collection includes approximately over 400 000 photographs.
The Jusélius heritage
The first entity published digitally out of the Satakunta Museum item collections is the Jusélius collection, consisting of about thousand objects. The collection includes household objects from the turn of the 20th century from the home of a Pori tycoon, Fritz Arthur Jusélius (1855-1930). The collection was donated by the Sigrid Jusélius Foundation, and comprises a great number of toys that belonged to Jusélius’ daughter, Sigrid (1887-1898).
Among the people of Satakunta, the father and his daughter are especially known for their final resting place, the Jusélius mausoleum situated in Käppärä cemetery in Pori. After Sigrid died of tuberculosis at the age of 11, her father decided to have a unique memorial built as her burial site.
